Bahian cities benefit from the “Saúde no Trecho” programme in June

The program “Saúde no Trecho“, developed by VIABAHIA and VITALMED is developed in four cities of Bahia during this month of June. On Monday 11th, the health caravan visited Antônio Cardoso, at the Professor Fernando Barrera Dantas Educational Center, in Santo Estevão Velho.

The municipalities of Rafael Jambeiro, Santo Estevão and Santa Terezinha are beneficiaries of the program on the 12th, 13th and 14th, respectively. This Corporate Responsibility action is supported by the city halls and the municipal health and education secretariats.

In April, the “Saúde no Trecho” initiative served over 500 people, including children and adults. All of them received a free clinical consultation with a doctor; and a blood pressure assessment by a nurse; in addition to health, welfare and healthy eating guidance.

The program serves up to 50 people per day, who receive a nurse’s assessment followed by medical care. If a patient presents a serious situation, the program is supported by an Advanced Unit that is exclusively assigned to the action.

The “Saúde no Trecho” caravan will take turns between the different municipalities, until September this year. The goal is to attend to more than 1,500 people in 26 municipalities in Bahia.
