This week, the ROADIS team has joined this solidarity initiative of the Villaverde Municipal Council of Madrid. Together, we have organized a donation of computer equipment and devices to help school children with few resources to access their online training in times of pandemic.
Without a doubt, the arrival of COVID-19 has highlighted the digital divide and the difficulties faced by many families in our city. Within the framework of the initiative “Conectados en clase”, with the collaboration of the district’s Education and Social Services areas, we are working to detect the needs of families with greater digital connection problems since the state of alarm was declared last March.
This Wednesday, October 28th, ROADIS delivered 25 laptops, in addition to other computer equipment such as screens, keyboards, briefcases, desktops, printers and chargers. ROADIS HQ’s HR team has coordinated this initiative. And the IT team has worked, over the past few weeks, to get these computers ready for donation.
At present, this campaign is already evolving into “Conectados en eclase 2.0“, which will also be implemented in the district of Villa de Vallecas. In this new stage, the assembly of classrooms is also contemplated so that students can access work and study points. In this way, it increases their capacity to access the new training models and supports them in working on the already existing models.
With this project of donation of computer equipment by companies and citizens, the aim is to reach a total of 400 families, 200 per district.
Thank you very much to all of you who have participated in this campaign… we continue to advance in our CR strategy!
